Chloe's Journey -

Background/Reason for Joining Eat That Frog

When Chloe first joined Eat That Frog, she was unsure what to expect. The idea of starting somewhere new and meeting unfamiliar faces made her hesitant and cautious about trusting staff or forming connections. However, Chloe chose to give the experience a chance, determined to see what opportunities it might bring.

Support given by Eat That Frog

With encouragement from the caring staff and a welcoming group of peers, Chloe soon began to settle in. She found herself building strong relationships with both tutors and other learners and came to see Eat That Frog as a place where she could truly be herself without fear of judgement. Chloe took part in a wide range of subjects including Vocational learning, Maths, Personal and Social Development (PFA), Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Employability, Emotional Literacy (ELSA), Work Experience and Cooking.

Throughout her programme, the ETF team offered patient and consistent support, helping Chloe face and overcome the challenges she encountered. In particular, she worked hard to rebuild her confidence in maths after time away from education, relearning forgotten skills and developing strategies to stay focused even when things felt difficult. Her tutors also guided her through work experience, encouraging her to step outside her comfort zone and helping her to build resilience. Although meeting new people and adjusting to a new environment initially felt daunting, she discovered a love for working with animals and soon began to thrive.

Outcome / Qualifications gained

Chloe’s time at Eat That Frog has been transformative. She has grown in confidence, learned to manage social situations more comfortably, and developed practical and personal skills that will support her into adulthood. She describes her time at ETF as “brilliant”, full of laughter, growth and unforgettable experiences.

Reflecting on her journey, Chloe says that there are no faults in her experience, only challenges that have been overcome. She now looks back with pride on how far she has come and hopes that future learners will find Eat That Frog just as special as she has, describing it as “a unique place where you can be yourself and be supported every step of the way.”
