Eat That Frog - Post 16 trip to Gran Canaria

Eat That Frog Post-16 learners are invited to apply to take part in a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Gran Canaria with their tutors. 

What is the turing programme?

A 17 day educational trip to Gran Canaria. 

Selected Post-16 learners will enjoy a pre planned action packed itinerary with support from Eat That Frog tutors and our Spanish staff members.

Giving our learners a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience life, learning, and independence abroad.

What is this trip for?

The trip to Gran Canaria is designed to help learners improve their confidence in being independent.

During the trip they will experience:

  • Spanish schooling
  • Work experience
  • Local cuisine
  • Various extra curricular activities
  • Independent skills (cooking, cleaning etc)
  • Communication skills

It gives our learners a chance to thrive away from the pressures of home/college life

Readiness to Travel Support

Our readiness to travel support aims to help families in need.

Eat That Frog will assist families who need support in applying for a passport, visa applications, vaccines and medical certificates.

  • Annual household income of £25,000 or less.
  • Participants receiving or live with someone receiving  Universal Credit or income-related benefits.
  • Students with experience of being in care or who is a care leaver – including anyone who is or has been in care, or from a looked after background at any stage of their life.
  • Students entitled to free school meals at any point in the last 6 years.
  • Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

Our fully fitted and managed one-story villa in San Andrés offers all of the comforts and facilities to make sure you can relax and enjoy your stay in Gran Canaria.

Located near a small supermarket that opens every day within walking distance, along with a pharmacy and a bus stop that can take you to the city of Las Palmas. There’s also a rotisserie chicken shop and a fast-food restaurant offering burgers, hot dogs, and more. There’s a petrol station across the road, and the beach is also less than a 5-minute walk away. It’s located on the northern coast of the island.

You will stay in our fully fitted and fully managed, two storey villa in Telde, offers all of the comforts and facilities to make sure you can relax and enjoy your stay in Gran Canaria.

Located near a supermarket that opens every day, it is about a 10-minute drive away. There’s also a petrol station about 8 minutes by car. This villa is situated in a residential area, so there’s nothing nearby within walking distance except for a bus stop at the entrance. This villa is located in the middle east of the island, 20 minutes from Gran Canaria Airport, and approximately 15 minutes from Ojos de Garza Beach.
