Internal Vacancy 

Work & Learning Deputy Manager

Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 doe
Location: Torquay Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Can you enthuse, inspire and lead your team, with a professional and creative approach to education?  We’re looking for an energetic individual with a teaching and learning background, who can manage our post 16 education provision in Torbay. Ideally you’ll have a level 4 management qualification, and your DTLLs/PGCE (with experience of working with SEND learners), plus Assessor and Verifier awards.

Your role will include supervising work and learning provision to enable our Post 16 SEND learners to progress and achieve, which will involve supervising a team of teaching staff. Excellent ICT Skills (especially Microsoft Office) are a must, as you will be managing quality for your specified areas, as well as budgeting for and managing resources and facilities.

You will be able to support Business Development and bid writing as well as community projects and events. You will be able to set-up a network of local business contacts and work with employers to arrange work experience or to support learners.

Human Resources Manager

Salary: £16,800 – £19,200  (being pro – rata of £28,000 – £32,000)
Location: Torquay (also required to work at other sites as directed)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE)  may include work during evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Are you an HR professional dedicated to providing a customer-focused, collaborative service? We are a rapidly expanding education and training provider and need a motivated Human Resources Manager who can provide internal consultancy on HR and employment law issues, while ensuring that all aspects of HR recruitment, process and administration are handled in an efficient, secure and appropriate manner. You will ideally have demonstrable experience of managing/providing significant HR support to employees and line managers, preferably in a safeguarding environment, while working within Safer Recruitment practices. You will have experience of developing initiatives which support the welfare of employees and be able to lead on staff and customer training for your area of expertise and service delivery. Meticulous record-keeping and management of data for reporting purposes is a must. Experience of working within the education sector is desirable, as is the ability to work effectively with managers and employees across various locations.

Facilities Lead

Salary: £18,000 FTE (0.6 pro-rata being £10,800)
Location: Torquay (also required to work at other sites as directed)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (0.6 pro-rata)

We need a forward-thinking and pro-active person who can provide a professional facilities service for our training centres in Devon and Wiltshire.  Ideally with 3 years’ experience in a similar role, you will have the ability to meet legal requirements, with a current understanding of facility H&S requirements. You will be able to work within financial budget controls while maintaining accurate records, reporting back to Directors as necessary. You will co-ordinate facilities requirements, leases, furnishings, refurbishment, procure insurance services and resources and ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose. Travel between our centres is a necessity, so a full UK driving license is required.

Finance Administrator 

Salary: £20,000
Location: Torquay (also required to work at other sites as directed)
Hours: 37.5 per week

We are looking for a Finance Administrator who can combine attention to detail with providing good customer service to your colleagues and external customers.

You will have a Level 3 in Business and Finance (inc AAT) or equivalent qualification and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and ICT systems. Previous experience in XERO and SAGE is desirable, as is at least 3 years’ experience of bookkeeping and accounts.  You must have the ability to maintain accurate records and to meet legal requirements, with an up-to-date understanding of HMRC and current legislation.

Customer Service Assistant (Ref 0049)

Salary: £17,077 – £18,720
Location: Newton Abbot
Hours: 40 hours per week

This exciting opportunity is vital to the smooth operation of our business. You will be responsible for creating a great first impression on the phone and in person when people contact and visit our centres, as well as supporting our staff with the day-to-day running of Eat That Frog.

You will be able to offer a friendly and professional Front of House service as well as having the attention to detail and administrative skills necessary to support our back office staff. 

We have four training centres (Torquay, Paignton, Newton Abbot and Plymouth) and although you will be primarily based in Newton Abbot, you will be called upon to cover other centres as required.

Work and Learning Tutor – Catering Specialist (Ref 0046)

Salary: £18, 500 – £22,950
Location: Torbay
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Application Deadline: 22/10/19

We’re looking for experienced tutors/teachers who can inspire, engage, and enable young people to learn new life skills and achieve their goals in our non-classroom based setting. We need creative and energetic team members to work with learners 1:1 or in very small groups, demonstrating empathy and understanding plus a tenacious attitude and a flexible approach to deliver from Entry Levels to GCSE.

Everything we do is person – centred, so it’s essential to identify how people overcome and manage their barriers in life and learning. We need to be able to demonstrate the good work you do, so good planning and recording learner achievements will be key to your success. 

Must have a City & Guilds Level 3 catering qualification or equivalent.

Experience in teaching within the SEN and specialist education market will be an advantage, though we are keen to bring in fresh ideas! If you know the difference between Growth and Fixed mindsets, can inspire learners to move out of a learning pit, deal with challenging behaviour and can work as part of a team, then we would love to hear from you!
