Background / Reason for Joining Eat That Frog CIC
Thomas joined Eat That Frog to develop his communication and social skills, prepare for adulthood and the workplace, and improve his numeracy skills. A key goal for Thomas was to build his self-confidence while working towards his Functional Skills English and Vocational qualifications.
Support Given
We designed a tailored programme to help Thomas gradually build his confidence, gently encouraging him to step outside of his comfort zone. Through dedicated support, Thomas has taken part in work experience, improved his social interactions (especially with peers), gained independence through travel training, and developed his numeracy skills. His studies have also led him to successfully complete his Functional Skills English qualifications and work towards his vocational achievements.
Outcome
Thomas has made significant progress, currently undertaking his third successful work experience placement. This week, he reached a new milestone by independently catching the bus to his placement in a neighbouring town, Torquay. His experience in an admin-based role has inspired him to seek his first paid job in an office through a supported internship once he completes his studies at ETF in July 2025.
