Parent Information

We understand that parents want the best for their children, and that some learners need more support than others. This may be due to social, emotional or behavioural barriers, or to a range of learning difficulties which make traditional school or college settings difficult.

We offer small group sizes, dedicated tutors, 1:1 mentoring and bespoke programmes, giving a level of support and guidance that many larger institutions are simply unable to provide. As a result, we have a proven track-record of helping learners who have not succeeded in other environments.

Along with improving their functional Maths, English and IT Skills, Learners may gain confidence and work-related skills in a variety of areas, including Horticulture, Catering and Digital Skills.

It’s not just about getting qualifications! We have a strong focus on employability, to help prepare for the challenges of work. This could mean helping learners progress into a Traineeship or Apprenticeship, or to apply for Further Education. Our Work Coaches are available to support with advice and guidance about suitable progression routes, helping to arrange internal and external work experience placements.

What makes us really special is the effort we put into helping our learners with their social skills and coping mechanisms – for example helping build confidence, reduce anxiety levels, and integrate into small groups. We help learners take advantage of every opportunity by working closely with The Prince’s Trust and other local providers, providing a programme of fun trips and activities through the summer holidays, and take part in fundraising / community projects to foster a wider sense of ‘belonging’.

We work closely with local authorities and learners with Educational Healthcare Plans (EHPs) to agree a package of bespoke learning which suits the special education needs of each student.
