This exciting project aimed to help 18-24 year olds who were NEET (not in Education, Employment or Training) and develop their employability and life skills, giving them the confidence to move onto a positive outcome.
Eat That Frog CIC (along with other partners) worked with some of Devon’s most socially-excluded young people, with the aim to use 1:1 support and group activities to engage and progress them on a positive path. Participants were given a mentor to support them with anything they needed to help them move forward, including information, advice and guidance, sign-posting to relevant support services, confidence building, goal-setting, achieving their potential and assistance towards finding employment.
Petroc participants have taken part in a wide range of activities all of which have been guided and chosen by the learners themselves. They include: days out on Dartmoor, team building at Ashcombe, escape rooms and a regular film club. These group activities fit alongside the 1:1 mentoring all participants receive, helping to build confidence, social skills and a group ethos. Our Empowering Enterprise young people have gone on to achieve some great outcomes including entering the workplace.
