Today we harvested our Jerusalem Artichoke bed, a bumper crop, enough to sell the surplus locally! We were glad to support Parkside Greengrocers in Paignton, where owner Peter Fairall  made a donation to Eat That Frog.

Jerusalem Artichokes are not that often seen in the supermarkets, though they are gaining in popularity, due to their delicate taste. They can be cooked in much the same way as potatoes or parsnips and are excellent roasted, sautéed or pureed. They make a lovely silky-textured soup, although they do have a reputation for being a bit ‘windy’!

We hope the eventually purchaser really enjoyed their artichokes – our produce is truly organic and grown with enthusiasm.
