We’re not very good at blowing our own trumpet at Eat That Frog – we tend to be so busy working with our amazing clients that we don’t take any time to step back and reflect on everything we have achieved.

Our MD Ian Powell receives the reward from Herald Express Editor Jim Parker and sponsors Western Power.

This January sees the anniversary of our start-up, 6 years ago – and what a very long way we have come already! 2016 saw us helping more people than ever before, expanding our area to work across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. We moved to a fabulous new training and recruitment centre on Torquay’s main high street, plus a digital skills and catering training centre in Plymouth. We also launched our range of services for local businesses, including our ground breaking Ethical Recruitment Service .

In November last year, we were shortlisted for the Herald Express Community Awards, for our work supporting people into employment via training, mentoring and community involvement. We were absolutely delighted to be declared the winners of the prestigious local award for Community Group of the Year. We were described on the evening as ‘inspiring’, and ‘top of the class’, but as our Managing Director Ian Powell said, “This award is a huge thank you to all the staff who work at Eat That Frog, but especially for the customers who we work for. They are the people we support, they are the heroes.”

And that pretty much sums up the Eat That Frog ethos – community really is at the heart of everything we do.
